Another Beautiful Day

Thank you to everybody's wishes for the shaking to stop, unfortuantely people...you may have to wish LOUDER.....dear mother nature is bloody deaf!!!!!
The last year ended with a bang...and it hasn't stopped yet. In the last 24 hours we have endured 40 aftershocks with a 5.5 thrown in for good measure.

As I drove past this house today, the 40 screamed out. This house is owned by the Government - a 'state' house, in the late 1940's and 1950's the New Zealand Government 'pepperpotted' state housing in amongst residential housing to build a sense of community. It was a way of employment post war and the housing was built to a high standard in that the houses are solid - just very similar in design which makes you think of the song 'Little Boxes on the hill side" The picture is straight - the house is just falling towards the river!!

This is house is only a couple of blocks away and there are several that have been boarded up, left derelict , so it looks like a war zone......when the City Council or the Housing New Zealand will actually get off their arse and do something remains a mystery.
