Sunday 8 January 2012: Mum
Yesterday a distant relative, who's researching family history, emailed me a short family tree of my mum's side, in which I discovered my great-grandmother's name was - wait for it - Fanny Round. She also sent this scanned photo of my mum at the age of about 20 wearing her Salvation Army uniform. Who could have guessed when that was taken that it would end up scanned, emailed, displayed on a computer screen, photographed from there on a phone which then sent it to this website. They didn't even have TV in those days.
PS: I have absolutely no idea why the image is the right way up but the thumbnail is rotated. Couldn't do that if I tried.
