Saturday 14 January 2012: Laid Hedge
About 10 years ago the parish bought a piece of land to use as a cemetery. The land was too wet to use after the surveys were done and so the Parish asked the Biodiversity Society to propose a management strategy for the field. We planted hedges on three of the sides, planted wild flowers and have done other things to return the field to a more traditional Hampshire meadow.
Today we laid the hedge on one side of the field. We started at 9:30 this morning in the frost and mist, and we finished for the day about 4:30. Tomorrow we will start at 10:00 and should have it all completed by about midday.
