Aperture on Life

Work in Progress

It had to be done!

This will be Gary's present for spending most of the morning knocking out the back of the fireplace and almost the rest of the day wrestling with chimney liner. The flu had an awkward bend which, to add further frustration, was narrower than the tube that was being installed.

Half way there now. The fire is set up and ready to install and all that is needed is to raise the hearth so the door can open freely and a plate to seal it off.
The really good news is that they think a 7kw stove will be too hot for the house. Never!!

Thankfully the day is fairly mild as all the doors have been open more often than not but the drizzle that has descended all day has left the house feeling very damp. I'll be happy to get into work tonight for a warm up!

The days are getting longer and it's still light enough at 4.30pm to take the dogs for a trot. Come on mutts. Let's get some fresh air!
