One Crowded Hour

windows and shutters

Today we drove up into the limestone karst magnificence of the Midi-Pyrenees region rising from a couple of hundred metres above sea level to over 800.

In Roquefort-sur-Soulzon..yes the very same Roquefort..we climbed down into the caves where the cheese grows and matures.
Near Millau, we gawped in wonder at the 2.46 kilometre length of the Millau Viaduct spanning the Tarn River and valley and currently the tallest bridge in the world. It is truly magnificent and seems to float in a delicate dance of concrete and metal, pylons and cables.

In the town of Millau there was mussels for lunch and reflections in windows. The blue, white, hrizontals and verticals are perhaps a collage of what I saw today.
