Thursday 26 January 2012: Reflections at the 4th!
Not a memorial to all the balls I've lost in this pond in front of the 4th green over the years, but actually a duck house that has appeared here since last week, heralding the onset of Spring, as it's always removed over the Winter.
I suspect one of the greenkeepers is an avid reader, and presumably Dickens fan,as it bears the nameplate "Beak House", which at least makes me chuckle while I'm fishing about for my ball.
Henri, one of my friends and golfing partners, celebrated his 60th birthday today and did it in style by sinking a 4 foot putt (that's a long putt by our standards!) at the last to halve the match, in scenes (vaguely) reminiscent of the last Ryder Cup.
