Saturday 28 January 2012: Westfield bird boxes
I was running along the Water of Leith this morning, heading into town, when I took a wrong turn into Westfield. Here is a photo of some of the new flats beside the river. Note the bird boxes! First time I've see flats and offices built with bird boxes attached. This looks like a good idea, but will someone check the boxes and clean them out at the end of every year?
On my way back I noticed that Saughton Winter Gardens were open, and so I stopped to visit these for the first time and took lots more photos in the "glass house". This is a delightful place that I didn't know about before today. Will need to return in the summer.
