Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

Faces of Fiona #43

Fiona is spending the weekend with us. Her Mom is attending a 3 day physical therapy seminar in Vancouver BC (something about "running") and her Dad and her sister took the train up last night. At least they should all get 2 good nights' sleep, for a change! We don't have the space for this so she is sleeping in our room, we were hoping on the "camping bed" on the floor that all the kids have used for naps. After putting her back there several times (every 2 hours) we gave up and were glad we have a king size bed! This morning she ate cheerios and egg, played with the toys spreading them everywhere upstairs and down, set up the train set, changed dvds twice, had fun at the sink with the water and bubbles and painted at the easel. And it's only 9:30!! Whew, we thought- the zoo! but she had other ideas and refused to get in the car, wanting the stroller to the park. Ok no problem. Spent a lot of time there -she managed to get Boppa to slide on the baby slide with her. There was a nap, thank goodness, and we went out for awhile to feed their cats , came home and made cupcakes, dinner, played, loved her bath, read parts of lots of books and spent a LONG time getting to bed. In fact It's not all quiet yet, and it's almost 10:00. Tomorrow is her 2nd birthday - her family party is next week, but we'll have a mini one tomorrow. All in all she's very happy (before bedtime that is) and H and I are sincerely hoping we can last another day. There is a definite reason 71 year olds don't have 2 year olds! We will be very happy when she can talk more! She'll be able to show us how to use an ipad however, if we should ever get one. (She can play movies off of netflix on her family's ipad they left here for her - fortunately it only lasted about 5 minutes tonight!)
