This gritstone boulder lured me in with its glittering mica; a patch of sparkle and glamour at the edge of campus.

Another in an occasional series of micro-topographies, I like the way an image like this can subvert our sense of scale. It also draws attention to the little patches of wildness that surround us, even in the heart of the city.
