Tuesday 31 January 2012: pink and greys
A scorcher today with 38C and the promise tomorrowof 41C which, as often is the case, coincides with the first day back at school!
Took the hound for an evening gallop..his gallop, not mine...down our street and in a neighbour's tree, pink and greys, galahs, were feasting, squabbling and scoffing little green berries. As those not munched fell from the tree, the sound was that of softly falling rain landing on the dry eucalypt leaf litter.
Colloquially a galah is a term for a fool or idiot which seems a bit hard on the poor old parrot. They do tend to loiter in gangs mind you, often hanging upside down from telephone wires yelling at each other.
