Female Common Mergansers Up Close

It feels like spring in the air today...am in a bit of a funk, and decided to head to the Bethany Park (and pond) again and check out a back road to the pond to see if I could get closer to some of the wild species that stay towards the far side. There was a nice observation area, and I parked and watched the Common Mergansers go by twice. This is about as close as I've ever been to them, and it was wonderful to see more of the detail, and I really loved the way the light was playing on the water!
