Pungmul Nori Performer

Pungmul Nori is one of the oldest and most popular folk arts of Korea.
It refers to the percussion bands that performed in farming villages on various occasions, festivities and celebrations; including planting and harvesting seasons, New Year, and Full Moon to invoke blessings and repel evil spirits.
It is an activity that calls on the collective energy and unity of the community.

This is the leader JunKyu Lee as he leads the group into the auditorium while striking the Jing.

Instruments:

Khwaenggwari = Small gong

Jing = Larger gong

Janggu = Hourglass-shaped drum

Buk = Barrel drum

Sogo = Hand drum

Taepyeongso = Double reed wind instrument
