Family Day

Waitangi Day, New Zealand Day or in our house Family Day.

This day is a public holiday for all New Zealanders. Some attend Waitangi celebrations, others become New Zealanders while many families enjoy this day together - Family Day.

Our day started with brunch at Vic's cafe in Victoria Street - highly recommended, a fabulous menu which suited us all. Then a road trip to my favourite spot Hurunui River Mouth where this image was taken - Hubby having some fun with Daughter E and Daughter A. It was clear with a bit of a breeze. Down below there was fishing and a little boating in the esctuary, kids swimming and playing in the water. We then moved on to our Daughters favourite spot, Gore Bay. Quite a few waves, a gentle stroll and a little fun on the playground :)

A great day but all feeling very weary after the sea air. Daughter E is in bed and I will be following shortly - early start tomorrow at 3.30am, possibly my last one as Daughter E sits her full drivers license tomorrow - fingerscrossed!!
