Tuesday 7 February 2012: Victoria Park Band Rotunda

The band rotunda was designed by Rangiora businessman and Borough Councillor Thomas Keir. It was built by local builders Wadey and Efford and was opened by the Mayor of Rangiora, Edward Relph on 24 January 1907.
This building has an Historic Places Trust Category II rating.

It has survived all the earthquakes and is very much in use for our community, people pass by and take shelter from the rain or sit quietly in the shade on a hot summers day. It is surrounded by a small garden round its base and the roses are not far away.

A warm day in our town today, some sun and a little cloud. Daughter E sat her full drivers test and passed!! Fantastic!! Shes 'over the moon' and I'm delighted, wonder why??

Best fly now as I'm running a little late - have a great night all :)
