Wednesday 8 February 2012: A Knotty Problem
Getting towards mid afternoon I hadn't thought of a blip, I went out for the shopping but didn't get a blip - so here's a picture of my Contorted Hazel (Corylus avellana contorta).
With its twisty branches it appears to tie itself in knots. I've got my eye on a couple of branches that might well, in a year or few, make a nice Harry Lauder style walkings stick. By then I will probably need one.
Edit: Later on we saw, not only the Siskins and Robins but a Wren hopping through it; not seen them in the garden for a year or two, it's probably the one we saw by the 'pond' yesterday.
