Thursday 9 February 2012: Night falls on our dynamic earth.

The title might seem a little portentous if you didn't know that Our Dynamic Earth is a visitor attraction in Edinburgh , sitting below Salisbury Crags , the home of the study of Geology - and that I can see it from my office window.

All lit up too, as darkness falls on the city.
