Sgwarnog: In the Field

Ripples

Yesterday this was ice, but we had rain instead of snow and a thaw set in, or at least an interglacial of sorts.

These pebbles lie in the campus peace garden, as part of a taijtu (yin-yang) sculpture/fountain. As yin is associated with water, I assume that the fountain is the yin (dark) element.

The troughs and waves of ripples are one of the easiest ways of illustrating yin-yang, one cannot exist without the other, the balance is in the combination.

If you look closely you'll see a little droplet bouncing out of the pool, displaced by the rain.
