Volubis

I missed the bit about meeting our fellow 4 travellers in Casablanca (all women - two from Brisbane - Wendy and Brogan, Pum from Thailand and Anouska from Ireland) and our Moroccan guide Khalib. Khalib guided us to Rabat and took us that night to the best Chicken Olive and Lemon Targine in Morocco in Meknes. The next day, after a very quick sightseeing of Meknes famous ancient stables, Mausoleum and Medina we met our driver Mustapha and headed off on the next adventure to Fes. On the way, we travelled through beautiful rolling hills with olive groves and fields of broad beans and other crops.

This is the basilica at Volubis. The roman ruins here have the most spectacular mosaics, best I have seen I think. There is quite a bit of discovery still to do here - they haven't found the theatre but they have a pretty good idea where it is. We spent a lovely afternoon wandering around here and then on to Fes.
