Tuesday 21 February 2012: Chop Chop
One of the occasional tasks I enjoy is treating the wooden handles of my kitchen knives with oil, to stop them drying out and splitting. When they were all lined up I thought they might make a blip.
The three on the right are my basic knives, we use them all the time and they live on the knife rack, as do the middle four which are used as and when appropriate. The three on the left are kept in a drawer, they were my mother's knives which I kept as they were relatively new.
I do have others with resin handles, like the chef's knife, the cleaver and a couple of small ones, that don't need special treatment but somehow these are my favourites.
