Resclause landscape

In a short break from work this morning I went up to the top of the hill where the source of the village's water rises, La Resclause or La Resclausa in Occitan, which was just behind me when I took this shot. The cypress trees here are a symbol of welcome, arrival and departure, often signifying a boundary between one land and another. The doorway leads into a shelter built into the hillside and retaining wall. Everything still looks very dry and there's no rain forecast for at least a week, but I was pleased to see some rather late almond blossom, delayed but not killed by the cold weather we had at the beginning of the month.
