Stood Up?

Yes, I'm afraid duty called this morning when we made our way to the Land of Flowers to buy some patio gardening things.
We made scant use of their cakes today, even though we had both graced the gym at an hour when most sensible people are still in the land of nod.

However when the talking scales say 'One at a time, please' you know you're in trouble and have to take drastic action. It was hard though, to watch the consumption of cooked breakfasts ( 2 for the price of 1) and enormous gooey cakes, when nursing a solitary tea.

However since I'm our socialising with some friends this afternoon in the house of an accomplished baker and then this evening with my bookgroup and the inevitably delicious cake, my daily consumption of useless calories will be assured.

The book under discussion is 'Before I Go to Sleep by SJ Watson, a thriller for the easily terrified, about a woman who finds herself waking up in hospital unable to remember who she is or anything that has happened to her.
Since I chose it, I hope it's not rubbished - they're a pretty formidable academic lot on the literature front.
