Houses of Wilmington #9

George French House (1850)

This is an interesting Plain house, built while Wilmington was in a period of architectural transition. It is a carry over from the Greek Revival style.

George French and his three sons operated the largest boot and shoe business on Front Street in Wilmington.

George's son, William built a house next door. It will be featured next week.
