Monday 27 February 2012: A Very Old Shell
I've had this fossil rock for years and years. It's from Capitola beach, just south of us. Huge eroding sandstone cliffs have been tossing these little gems onto the shore for much longer than I remember. This particular rock, about the size and shape of a baking potato, fits nicely in the hand and I treasure its perfectly preserved shell.
