The way I see it.

Tuesday 28 February 2012: Gorse blooming in February!

The gorse has been flowering all winter in our mild conditions. The late afternoon sun was shining on these blossoms outside my classroom so I grabbed my camera to get a blip while the sun lasted. I looked up gorse on wiki and was surprised to learn that the flowers are edible and can be used in salads and teas.

They have a delicious coconut smell but then I also learned on wiki that some people can smell it strongly and others hardly at all. I must be one of the former and a whiff of it takes me back to childhood memories of being on Carradale beach in Argyll.
