Wednesday 29 February 2012: Leap day at the opera
Very cold wet and nasty - snow in some higher areas. A really good Tai Chi class and then mostly work at home. No photos however. So I decided to do an iphone creation at the opera tonight. We saw the French version of Gluck's classic Orphee et Eurydice - hence lots of dance (All French operas have a dance in the 2nd act - I've heard it was because so many Frenchmen came late to be seated!) but this time the Greek myth has a happy ending and some beautiful music. Amour, (cupid) who saved the tragedy and brought Eurydice back to life, rode in on a golden bicycle, from which she took a spill on her way out. No harm done.. We enjoyed it all very much!!
Seattle's Opera house has a wonderful outdoor plaza with changing lights on hanging metal screens - you can see the Space Needle in the back. I did have some fun messing with some of the apps I have...
