Saturday 3 March 2012: Giant Snowdrop

The Giant Snowdrops (Galanthus elwesii) were almost flowering today at the allotment. Weather was lovely - not a cloud in sight, temperatures just over 0°C and no wind.

About half the allotment was free from snow. M started the 'spring-clean' in the western part of the back garden, while Z was busy with some pruning.

We saw the female Sparrowhawk twice and the overwintering Robin was busy around the wood and compost corner.

One Year Ago: Sunny and 'spring-in-the-air'
