Thursday 8 March 2012: Goo
Those two big blobs of black goo? That is what is left of one of my 2nd stage bumpers in my suspension fork. That yellowish cylinder on the left, that's the the new bumper (and the shape the old bumper used to be in). This gunk was stuck at the bottom of my fork, not an easy task to remove.
The fork has less than a thousand miles on it, but it is 16 years old. It's been off the bike more than on the bike as most places I've lived didn't required a suspension fork. But I guess time takes it toll, even in a box.
