this is john darnielle, lead singer of my favorite band, the mountain goats. and last night at 35 denton, i was closer than i have ever been - in the front with my brother, connor, and his girlfriend, deva. they share a birthday - march 9th. pretty cool birthday present.
even with my autofocus drama, i was able to get some good shots and this one embodies john perfectly.
one of my favorite unexpected things he played last night was the day the aliens came. this shot might even be from that, actually. not sure.
also, way more AWESOME in large.
