COILS

A minute to blip on the walk in from the car park and a narrowboat, a proper old ex-working barge, had its chimney bellowing lovely smelly smoke. Indeed I heard a few schoolgirls passing over on the bridge going yuk, what's that smell? It was a glorious smell!

But, I snapped away at the smoke, the buckets, the mops, the whole barge, but this is really what caught my eye.

You can see that the left-hand rope loop has slipped down from its initial position. How wonderful that such a simple working tool, the end of a bit of rope, has been given such artistry, a bit of thought and time.

I wish I could have uploaded half a dozen pics today just from this boat, but this won.
