This is the pride and joy of the Ffestiniog railway narrow gauge railway.

The Hugh Napier is their newest acquisition, a hundred year old steam engine now fully restored to functionality after languishing in the Penrhyn Castle railway museum for about half a century.

There are lots of these narrow gauge railways in the UK and many in Wales. This one is particularly picturesque and attracts a lot of tourists in the summer months.

The Hugh Napier worked for many years on the Penrhyn quarries, transporitng quarried sate down to the docks for export.

Here a tourist is given a chance to co-drive the century old steam locomotive.
