Thursday 15 March 2012: (En)lighten
Went round the 'Edlighten' installations in the New Town on my way to rehearsal tonight. Only trouble was that they are mostly constantly moving, so the longer exposure you need to get enough light means they end up blurry. And generally wasn't that impressed with them anyway, least not as a subject for a photograph. Interesting enough as bits of urban art. This building on the other hand always looks great lit up when there's a show on. It's the Festival Theatre on Nicholson Street. When I first lived in Edinburgh it was being used as a bingo hall. It then got converted back into a theatre - I remember going to see a Russian play in the Festival one year in the old auditorium before the work got underway.
If you are interested in the Enlighten installations you'd better be quick as I think it finishes on Saturday.
