Tuesday 20 March 2012: Telly's Rubbish

I remember how much we had to cough up for our first Nicam stereo TV (and accompanying Nicam stereo VHS video recorder (with 21 day timer record)). It was an arm and a good chunk of a leg. Wasn't that long ago either. Or, at least, it doesn't feel that long ago.

I also remember keeping the big monster of a CRT tucked away after it had been retired in favour of it's sylph-like replacement. Eventually, even though it was still fully functional, it was taken along to the great container by the skips and left alongside all the other perfectly serviceable TVs and monitors that were now regarded as too chunky to be cool.

At least those were given a decent send off, unlike this 21" Nicam that's been fly-tipped at the side of a back road like an unwanted puppy.

Telly's rubbish.*

Shame.

*Rubbish until this time next week that is. 'Mad Men' starts back next Tuesday. That's far from rubbish.
