Tuesday 20 March 2012: Football
Wife had to work in the big city today leaving me to do the nursery run. Who would have thought it could take so long to travel such a short distance. On leaving I wanted to push the buggy, Girl wanted to scoot and Boy wanted to walk. By the end of the road I was still pushing, Girl was still scooting but Boy was now on the buggy board requesting a biscuit. He was informed that he could not have a biscuit unless he was sitting in the buggy. So a little further down the road I was still pushing, Girl was now walking and Boy was now sitting in the buggy. Both were eating biscuits and I was also carrying a scooter. Once the biscuits were all gone we picked up speed and apart from a minor fall on Girls part we got there, late.
After the lonely walk back, with only a scooter for company it was time for work until collection time which was longer and louder with no possible biscuit relief were no alternative snack option was acceptable. On Wife's way home she had spotted a gift idea for Girls upcoming birthday so after sleepy time I headed out into the dark to make the purchase. The roads seemed busy so I elected to walk. The match was on up the road, hence the roads being busy with residents looking for anywhere to park as the Pompey fans had pinched all the best spaces.
It is quite strange to be wandering about amongst all the football lot with a large childs toy under your arm.
