Wednesday cakes

Mandy's away again. Zambia this time. Until Saturday. Hardly worth it just to have a few meetings but there you go. That's the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development for you. Doing its best to keep the airlines and mid-market hotels in business.

We, on the other hand, made our civic contribution by eating cakes at the church tearoom. I manfully tackled this cheese scone while Ewan, being younger and more able for it, got through a meringue, a shortbread biscuit and a pancake. Ellen could only manage some millionaire shortbread and a biscuit. Tough work but someone's got to do it. Those church roofs don't replace themselves you know.

Now it's back to the garage to polish up this old bike some more and maybe fit the new brake levers and gear shifter that it needed. And take out a spoke for the back wheel so I can buy new spokes and rebuild the back wheel.
