~Waxing Crescent~

~And Earthshine~

A waxing crescent moon means that 1% to 49% of the moon's right side is visible. That is true for us here in the northern hemisphere. The waxing crescent moon for our Blipper in the southern hemisphere is just the opposite, 1% to 49% of the left side is visible. Waxing means it is getting larger every night, and waning means it is getting smaller.
Earthshine refers to the light reflected by the earth that is visible on the moon's night side or the darker side. It's sometimes referred to as the "Old Moon in the New Moon's Arms'. Let me know if you can see it? It is very faint and may not show up on some monitors.
The delineation line between the light and dark is called the terminator.
To see this exact moon phase again, you will have to wait another 29.530589 days. So look while you have a chance.

Thanks for letting me share.
