MeriRand & the NW Passage

Itaúnas at Last!

Adventures abound! It turns out the car we rented wasn't exactly top notch. Oh, it had air conditioning. But it died when we parked it in Itaúnas. It didn't like the heat and the 20km of washboarding. We stopped by Reserva Vale and got a guided tour of some of the last remaining virgin Mata Atlantica. It was pretty amazing and I had a hard time picking just one photo for the day.

Our Pousada (hotel) in Itaúnas was gorgeous! with maybe a little problem with the ants. But it was very nice. We walked out towards the dunes just before sunset to stretch our legs some.
