Saturday 24 March 2012: The Spire at Dalton Holme

Dalton Holme is made up of two villages; South Dalton and Holme-on-the-Wolds. St Mary's Church at South Dalton has a beautiful, 200ft spire, which can be seen for miles around. This remarkably elegant church was built in 1858, to a design by John Loughborough Pearson, and is a local landmark.

The weather was mild, sunny and misty for our family trip out to the Trout at Wansford. Unusual, but very pleasant, to have the whole shoal at the same table. This picture was taken from the Etton Road on our way home.
