There is a saying along the lines of "If a tree falls in the forest and there is nobody around to hear it - does it make a sound?" Around our home it goes "If a coat falls to the ground when you aren't looking is there a cat around who will not take a nap on it?" (It also works with fresh laundry..."If fresh laundry is set down on the bed and you step out of the room for just a minute..."
