Wild Moorland Ways

Wild scene of moorland ways
Solitiude and needed space
Where crush of city brawl
Gives way to bracken sprawl
And footsteps long replace
The shuffle of office pace
Where map and compass need
Surpases monetary greed
And minds trapped in figures
Relax to walking's rigours
Where energy stifled in chair
And hearts dogged by despair
Rip roar in fervant stride
Pushing care, stress aside

Where else might one release
From pressure without cease
Commuter battles' daily grind
The lost penny ever to find

Only here in wilderness wild
That is as yet undefiled
By traffic lights and blare
By computer's deadly stare
Can one find that inner peace
That cure for urban disease
Can find meaning in one's days
Among these wild, moorland ways
