From Small Beginings

This little oak tree was grown from an acorn gathered in Glengariff Forest, Quite a few acorns germinated in some compost in an old fish box. This one and several others have been planted out in a newly cleared area, along with Birch, Mountain Ash, Hazel and Wild Cherry. They will need looking after for a few years, until they have grown above the brambles and bracken. It's amazing to think, that this little tree will be around for hundreds of years and will witness the future unfolding!
I have been at work today and tomorrow but I have some time off at the end of this week, can't wait!
