Sunday 8 April 2012: Tooth Fungi
For Easter R & I went down to Lake Hawea so as R could go for the 3 days to the Wanaka Warbirds. Air Show which is on every 2 years.
And my special was to go to Kidds Bush Fungi hunting with Dups & Katey. There has been no rain down there in a good while, and we did not expect to find very much - but we were pleasantly surprised at the little gems we did find.
But the special for the day for me anyway, was to see this Tooth Fungi - Hericium coralloides. It was on the end of a fallen tree.
I have never seen it before.
