Old Istanbul

Today has been a Turkish cultural extravaganza.

Sunken Cistern, lunch of tapas and kebabs and iced peach tea, Aya Sofya, Hippodrome, stop for freshly squeezed pomegranate juice and ice creams, Blue Mosque, back to the spice bazaar (well we needed more Turkish delight !!) across the Galata bridge (seeing the fishermen throwing their lines in from the bridge), up the hill on the second oldest underground in the world no less !, Galata tower, street popcorn stop and more freshly squeezed juices, street tram to Taksim square then home for tea !!!

PHEW !

Oh yeah and the kids nearly got arrested trying to climb over the balcony in Aya Sofya ( literally seconds after this blip was taken). Jacob spent the rest of the day with his hoodie on, hood up, trying to look inconspicuous (of course the opposite was the case).
