Thursday 12 April 2012: Osprey (Pandion haliaetus)
We are back home and having a rather okay weather day, a little sun and beautiful cloud formations. My husband spotted an Osprey at the back pond and I was able to get a few soaring shots before he headed off.
I believe this is a female as she has scattered dark feathers across her upper breast, while males are all white. They are beautiful hawks who like to eat fish, and we see them occasionally diving for a catch.
