Saturday 20 September 2008: Meal Time?

A beautiful sight
Bright
Amongst the dead wood
On the forest floor

Enticing
Red with icing
Like the best sweet food
Of which you want more

---------------

But probably best to leave this alone given it's poisonous...

Fly Agaric is a fungus which gets its name from use years ago to entice flies, get them high, and make them easier to swat. You learn something knew every day, and we learned a lot of things today on one of Valvona and Crolla's 'Fungi Forays' at a 'secret' location with Professor Watling.

A couple of hours spent trampling through the forest, with our discoveries poured over afterwards (with us finding a few edible items, but not that tasty...)

So instead we bought some nice cheese and meat from V&C on our return, as well as the obligatory bottle of wine, to go with the loaf of sourdough we'd already bought.

A good day all in all.
