Sunday 21 September 2008: Homemade

Homegrown
Homemade
Homeeaten
Time paid
And returned

-----------------

The tomato crop from the greenhouse hasn't been perfect this year, but plenty enough for some homemade tomato ketchup. So after wandering round a forest yesterday trying to find edible mushrooms, today saw the easier trek to the garden for some tomatoes and a couple of chilies (and some fennel) for a lovely, fresh, spicy, tart tomato ketchup. Heinz eat your heart out.

For the first Sunday in ages there was a chance for a lie-in (by our standards, about 9.30am) and breakfast over the newspaper. It's the simple things sometimes that give the most pleasure (like waking at 6.30 and thinking it's Monday before realising there's more of the weekend to come).

The day only really had one drawback, and it's one that all Sundays share. Tomorrow is Monday...
