The Blackcountry Man

What's up Croc?....

We are in Costa Rica today and we decided to take a trip from the boat, it was not cheap either but as we are in a third world country we decided to play it safe and stick with crowds.

The trip included a bus ride trough the towns and villages of Costa Rica from Puntarenas to the Monteverde's Sky Train which took eight people up into the rain forest canopy to view the rain forest from a vantage point that was unique. We managed to see a variety of birds including the endangered Scarlet Macaws which were nesting in a hole in a tree. Our guide explained everything to us that we needed to know and was very good with his knowledge.
We left here and in half an hour we ended up at The Jungle Crocodile Safari, were we went on a boat ride down the Tarcoles River our guide said we should see some Crocodiles and true to his word there were many just swimming around and this one came out on a sand bank to take in the sun. He was around 10' long and looked mean.
We also saw Roseate Spoon Bills, White Ibis, Blue Herons, Snowy Egret, Turkey Vulture, Black Vulture, Osprey, Kingfishers and Many Many more too many to mention.
I will put some on Flickr when I have a sensible internet.

Another day at sea tomorrow.
