April in the Gulf Islands

I love it in the gulf Islands in April - these little calypso orchids dot the woods in between the new green on the salal and mahonia. We arrived today with calm seas and the sun out - I saw a loon in the harbor near the marina where I have not seen one before, but the photo was too small. Then there were many showers/sun breaks but we did take a walk with our friends R and D who came up with us- it's all so green and lush, no surprises on the trail (as in trees down....) and we even got a bit of warm sun on the beach.
And now I get to go "out" to dinner as R is making dinner in the guest cottage - an excellent treat!!!! (I am in "paradise"!)
