Wednesday 18 April 2012: Rodney Bay, St Lucia

This is the view from Pigeon Island in St Lucia. We were staying at a hotel behind the sandy beach on the far side of the bay (to the left) and most days we headed out from there on a dive boat to go diving. Most of our diving was to the south, down the coast to the right of the image, but we also dived on the reef just below where this shot was taken. The coastline is quite beautiful and in many places spectacular, so time spent on the dive boat was no hardship!

This being our last day, we rented a car and did some land based exploring for a change, which included visiting the fort at Pigeon Island from which this shot was taken, driving into a volcano at Soufriere, and visiting botanical gardens. A lovely day out before the long flight home...
