A visit to the vets!

Louis had to go back to the vets tonight - two weeks ago we noticed a bit of blood in his wee, so we took him to see the vet and he had to have an ultrasound. They couldn't see anything wrong, but gave him an antibiotic injection and asked us to take him back tonight with a urine sample.

Now, as most of you know, Louis is a little dog and how you get a little dog to pee in a pot was beyond me!

So this morning Alan put on the plastic gloves and off we went, armed with kitchen roll, a sandwich bag and the plastic pot.

We thought it would be better to take him to a lamp post, rather than a hedge, as there was a chance he'd be able to catch it in the pot. It took a while, as trying to get a dog to wee somewhere you want them to isn't that easy, so we had to walk him around and persuade him that the post was the best place. Anyway, success! It worked - he cocked his leg and Alan was at the ready.

Now you may wonder why we had a sandwich bag with us - that was to put the filled pot in lol!

But the best news is that tonight he got the all clear :-) The vet gave him a second antibiotic injection just to be on the safe side. He said the first one covered him for 2 weeks and he really needed to be covered for three, but we don't need to go back. Big relief for Louis as he hates the vet....and a big relief for us as we love Louis :-)
