The Proposal Booth

This photo is notable for two reasons. One, Daisy is genuinely smiling (she usually pulls a silly face or turns away when asked to smile for the camera). Two, it's taken in the exact spot where JFK proposed to Jackie - a booth in Martin's Tavern, which is a great little pub in Georgetown, Washington.

Georgetown is wonderfully quaint. Like a traditional English town - complete with Georgian houses, cobbled streets and a canal - that has been plonked down in the middle of a major American city. The sun is shining and we've just washed down amazing cheeseburgers with a beer/Pinot Noir. Fab.
